My daughter is ambidextrous. She used to write her name with two pencils, one in each hand - it drove her first grade teacher crazy! She wanted my daughter to pick just one hand - my daughter loved her teacher, who was righthanded...so my daughter picked her right hand.

The only downside to her ambi-ness is that she has never learned left from right, as she has no frame of reference for favoritism. So when she drives, and is told to make a left turn, she puts her thumbs out, pointing toward each other, and her index fingers straight in the air. If it looks like a letter 'L', she knows that's the way to turn!
