I have never been able to convert to the couponing thing. I hope it works for you.

I laughed at your insurance change. It sounded just like a commercial. Allstate is more expensive than I like to pay.

I, too am cutting back to see where we can save. I changed our TV plan and got more channels that we would watch for the same amount of money.

I buy bread from the Sara Lee outlet. Been doing it for years. I so love the free stuff. I usually get the kids bagels with it.

Well I know sometimes it is actually cheaper to buy name brand grocery and cleaning products if you have a good coupon and link it up to a good store sale on that item at the same time.
Read the little signs under the grocery/cleaning item at the store, it will tell you the price per ounce. Sometimes buying larger sizes isn't really going to save you money by that much. Example, if you don't have a coupon on the larger sizes it might be more worthwhile to buy a smaller size that does have a coupon and makes the cost per ounce less than the cost per ounce on the larger size.
Make sure to turn down the thermostat in your home by about five degrees every time you leave the house. You can turn it back up when you get home, and if needed wear a sweater or sweat shirt until it warms back up. If you have problems remembering this just post a note on the door that you go out of to get to your vehicle to remind you to turn down the heat. Eventually it will just become a habit.
Turn off lights in rooms you are not currently in. It's funny how often people leave the kitchen light on until bedtime.
The phone thing is good, down scaling TV services is good like you mentioned above.
If you decide to save money by trading services with neighbors, friends, family, just make sure that everything gets put down in writing before hand and signed by both parties with both parties getting a photocopy of the document. Example: Trading three days of babysitting, for an electrician friend rewiring something in your home.
