Couponing is very beneficial. I grew up with my mom couponing, so it was natural that I would.
I don't get some of the deals I would like because I don't have a vehicle available all the time, to get in on the specials before the stock all runs out. My husband uses the vehicle to get back and forth to work. Yet, we went down to one vehicle to save on car insurance and upkeep, so it all balances out. Yet last month I saved about $80 in coupons, and thus far this month I have saved about $12.
It sure helps, since they messed up and didn't take enough taxes out in my husband's pay, and we owe nearly $1,000 in taxes.
Thankfully my husband is going to talk to payroll where he works on Monday and have an extra $100 every two weeks taken out of his pay, so we don't have to figure out where to come up with this money again next year at tax time.
I'm going to have to get even better at couponing to make up for this $200 shortfall every month that we'll be feeling. I think I can do it, or be better at making and freezing more of my own homemade meals to cut down on costs each month.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere on line last month that it used to be that only 16% of people used to use coupons and 84% didn't and now it's just the opposite with 84% using coupons and 16% not using them. I bet it's pretty accurate though because of the current economic situation.
Good luck in the Double Stuff Racing League, looks like the two of you are enjoying yourself.
