The final countdown to the New Kids on the Block concert is here!! I leave Texas on Tuesday morning, have lunch with S and my sister around noon and then that evening I will party at the concert. I was thinking of making a sign to hold up that said

but was afraid he might feel awkward. What would be funnier is if I put a pic of some random 18 year old on the poster. That would make Donnie a little nervous. But alas, a hug & a kiss on the cheek outside a hotel does not make a child unless you are a child reading this- then YES, yes it does. Anyway, I again want to give a huge THUMBS UP to my great friends for buying my plane ticket- Nobody, S, Suzanne, NCS and Klin. Y’all are awesome!!

Christmas Morning 1989- see I got cool stuff for Christmas. No english saddles or Barbie houses for me. Straight up NKOTB stuff and I was set.

Random ugly picture of myself. I bought that Larry Bird shirt with my own money. Holy ugly. I look like one of those fish with eyeballs on the side of its head…

So… apparently my undying love for New Kids on the Block was portrayed sufficiently enough in my blog for my friends to know and understand how bummed I was that I missed the concert on Sunday.
I had offers of a home to stay in if I flew to Salt Lake for the Saturday concert. I had trip itineraries planned out for me with the flights, tickets costs, ride to and from airports, etc…, and I had a rad call from Nobody.
I didn’t answer my phone because I didn’t recognize the number. I listened to my voicemail and it said, “You’re just not answering because you didn’t recognize the number. But it’s Nobody. Call me back. Bye.”
Wow. She knows me so well. I had her cell phone number in my phone, but she was calling from her home. I called her back, talked to Avee for a while (I was star struck and totally was like “I carried a watermelon…” when Avee answered) then I spoke with Nobo.

So, what would you say if I told you I had some airmiles just lying around I’d like you to use towards a ticket to Kansas City so you can see NKOTB?” (My sis and her sis live in KC area.)

Wait a minute, only my husband has friends that call and offer him plane tickets, right?

WRONG.

So, since I was wanting to help Nobo use her airmiles I totally accepted.

“I don’t have anyway to repay you…”

“Just let me stay with you when I come to Texas.”

“Deal! You can even have the CLEAN kid’s bedroom.:)”

Fast-forward to today….

Nobo is full of it. I mean, she really had the airmiles, but in reality that was the cover story to see if I’d be down with going to KC. Since I was TOTALLY down Nobo called me again today. This time I had her number programed in my phone. The screen lit up “NOBO” and started ringing “Summer Girls” by LFO.

Now she told the real story. She and her sister, S of S Sister to Nobody, had concocted a plan. They emailed my friends to see if they wanted to help send me to KC to see NKOTB. My online twin, No Cool Story, Suzanne, and Klin, along with Nobo and S, all chipped in for my plane ticket to see NKOTB. How cool is that? I was stoked before, but when Nobo told me this… I cried. I did. I cried because I really, really, really felt loved. Wow.

How cool is that? Are you so jealous?? Sei said he would blog about how jealous he was while I was lusting at Donnie doing pelvic thrusts. :) I will be opening my blog to him while I’m gone.

Anyway… that’s all. I just had to brag about the awesome friends I have. I was so surprised and I… wow. Y’all rock. Thank you SOOOOO much. You have no idea how loved you have made me feel. Thanks to you I will be sitting in section 117 on Row 11 on Nov. 11 wearing my old concert tee. And I’ll probably be crying.

I dedicate this video to you, my friends. It’s one of my fave performances- I still have the video from when I taped it on tv. And just a little bit of trivia- this was at the 1990 AMA awards- the nite after the concert I went to in Oklahoma City (and met Donnie). Notice Donnie is hoarse from singing to me the nite before. :) And not only do I dedicate THIS video to you- I will make a new video of me doing random NKOTB dances from different videos. This is HUGE because I CANNOT dance. So… you certainly can look forward to that. :)

Thanks y’all. So much. Tori :) ? her friends.

Tonite is the New Kids on the Block concert in Dallas that I will not be going to. I am sad, but I think the example I am setting for my kids is more important. How can I tell them “no concerts on Sunday” and then not follow the rule?? They know this is a big sacrifice for me considering I still own my concert tee, my Donnie doll, my NKOTB sleeping bag, all the tapes, videos, a Best of CD, etc… I am sad. I am jealous of my friend who is going. Here’s a little glimpse back in ’90. This is just one corner of my room and before the whole back of my door was covered. ALL my walls looked like this. Ahhh- the memories…. I’m sorry Donnie. I know you will miss me. I am a fan, but I am a parent 1st. (grrrrrr….)

To read about how I met Donnie clickety here! (I don’t know what’s goin’ on with my hair in this pic…)

* The keychain remote I have to my house alarm is not the way to turn on the alarm when people will be home.
Sei and I made a late nite run to Walmart last nite. We left Tristan and my little sister (She’s 14) in charge. I told them I was setting the alarm. I clicked my handy little keychain remote and felt that all my precious babies were protected. Fast forward 10 minutes…. My phone rings. When I see it is Tristan I jokingly say to Sei, “Um, Mom, the alarm is going off.” I answered and can totally hear the alarm going off in the background. DOH! I forgot about the motion detector!! Poor Tristan sounded pretty shaken up. I felt bad. :( I gave him the code to turn it off and brought him & Ali a Twix to bride them forgivness. If I had been thinking I would have known not to click it on with my remote. Duh. I was impressed how quickly ADT called our home. They called within seconds of Tristan’s call to my phone.

*I still heart New Kids on the Block. Big Time.
NKOTB performed on The Today Show this morning. OMGosh… I love them. I cried. Shut up- I really did. They sang a medley of their old songs, sang a new song and then sang “Tonight”- which I totally sang along too. I saw some posers in the crowd trying to pretend like they knew the words. They so. did. not. They have now added DALLAS to their tour- for October 19. It’s a Sunday. I don’t usually do concerts on Sunday, which is why my mom drove us to Oklahoma City to see them before. But they are going to San Antonio on the Friday before that. Hmmm… Road trip, s–max?? Oh- and Jon still can’t dance. I always loved Danny (for his hawt body) and Donnie for his cuteness and rebelliousness. I still love them. I need to get my concert tee back from Izzy….

*Green bags work.
I haven’t used the Debbie Meyer’s Green Bags personally, but they reviewed them on the news yesterday. The bananas, strawberries and lettuce were fresh and yummy 18 days later!! I buy fruit but we never seem to get thru it fast enough before it all spoils- especially bananas and strawberries. I’m gonna get me some of these bags. They sell them at CVS now and probably other places too.

Y’all know I love my New Kids on the Block. I still have all their tapes, concert tee, sleeping bag, Donnie doll and a few videos. I heart them big time!! I’ve always wanted them to go on a reunion tour. Well… My own personal sources confirmed this to me a while ago, but now it is official:

New Kids on the Block planning a comeback

(Thanks Stacey for finding this pic. I saw it yesterday and couldn’t find it again today!!)

Published: April 1, 2008 at 1:06 PM
Print story Email to a friend Font size:NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) — The once wildly popular U.S. boy band New Kids on the Block, which broke up in 1994, is planning a reunion, a source told The Boston Globe.

The group is expected to announce on the “Today” show Friday that it is getting back together.

The insider told the newspaper all five original members — Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood and Jordan and Jonathan Knight — have signed on for the reunion and tour is being planned.

YAY! So, tomorrow morning they’ll be on The Today Show tomorrow. My dvr is set. I just hope if they go on tour that they sing their old stuff- not a bunch of new stuff. I wanna see Step by Step!! I want Hangin’ Tough… I want falsettos and pelvic thrusts… ;)

AND…
DIRK is back!! After being out with an injured knee and ankle, he was back last nite. The Mavs won 111-86. Can I get a W00t W00t!?!?!?

My sister emailed me a link to people.com with a story about New Kids On The Block. Y’all know my obsession with NKOTB. I mean, Donnie and I are tight. ;) Anyways… It is rumored that the New Kids are going to reunite!! AAAGGGHHH!! I knew I save my concert tee for a reason. And my old tapes. And my NKOTB sleeping bag, and Donnie doll, and… I’ll shut up before I sound like a total freak…

Saturday at Alec’s football game there was a guy there that I knew was someone. Someone I had seen before. In a movie. A church movie. I could totally picture him dressed as an LDS missionary. In a gray suit. He was the good kid. Crap… who was he?!?!? It was driving me crazy until I realized he as the good kid that got to go on an LDS mission when his friend that had screwed up big time wasn’t worthy to go at that time. And as this guy was walking down the runway to his plane he held up his scriptures and his clothes changed into armor. He had on the Armor of God. I still don’t know his name and couldn’t find the video online. So… I don’t have a picture of him. But if he’s at the next game I will!
Anyway, that got me thinking… Some people have met tons of really famous people. My SIL saw Heather Locklear at Disneyland and full on grabbed her arm and said “You’re Heather Locklear!!” (Just in case Heather didn’t already know that…) Ok, I’m so the opposite. I don’t wanna bug anyone. Like at the game, I could have just said “Were you in an LDS movie??” It’s not like paparazzi was following him and he’d be annoyed that I looked him in the eye. But I felt like a dork. So, instead this poor man probably thinks the crazy lady that screamed the whole game has the hots for him because she kept staring. (That would be me…)
These are the famous people I have either only seen or I’ve actually talked to. Yeah, I know. I’m too cool.

Marie Osmond- at the Carls Jr. in Provo. She was talking on her cell phone really loudly. When we were leaving Sei told her “My wife LOVES your radio show.” Eh?? I just stood there like Baby “I carried a watermelon.” I felt so stupid because Sei only said that so I would feel so stupid.Wilford Brimley- Yep, he is related to Robin. :) I saw him at a gas station in Idaho. I said, “Hey babe! It’s the grumpy oatmeal guy!!” I had just seen Brigham City (which he is in) so I felt extra close to him. I didn’t dare approach him though. He always seems mad when he says “If you havve diabetes… damn it…. get on this insurance….” Michael McLean- an LDS musician. I’ve met him twice. Once after one of his “Forgotten Carols” performance (where I also met the Dallas Maverick Shawn Bradley’s wife) and then another time at a Deseret Book book signing. He’s very nice.
Wee Man- from Jacka$$. He was at Malibu hosting that show “5-4-3-2-1.” We saw him hosting it. And yep- he’s short. That’s all I have to say about that.Jose Canseco- played for the Texas Rangers. I saw him when I was at Six Flags with a group of friends. He was in line for The Texas Giant (huge wooden roller coaster) with us. He denied who he was when someone said “How was the game?” He said, “I don’t play baseball.” Who said anything about baseball?? He was busted.Tony Dorsett- played for the Dallas Cowboys. I was waiting tables at a restaurant named The Magic Time Machine. Ok, I wasn’t actually a waiter. I was the baked potato bringer-outer. I brought Tony Dorsett his potato and put butter, chives & bacon bits on it for him. It was the same nite as the low speed white Bronco chase with OJ Simpson. At this restaurant we joked around a lot- that’s what it’s famous for. Like when people go to the bathroom we’ll wait outside and when they come out we yell “Hope everything came out all right!!” Anyway- another waiter yelled “Hey! It’s OJ Simpson.” Mr. Dorsett said, “NOT funny.” I guess he thinks OJ did it too. Hmmm…. Tatu- he played professional soccer for the Dallas Sidekicks. He came to our elementary school in 6th grade. I got his autograph. All I remember is that when he scored (on the soccer field and perhaps off) he pulled off his jersey and threw it in the crowd. Very exciting.Y’all have all heard about my meeting with Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block. I wrote about that here. I’m pretty sure if I met him today he wouldn’t remember me because I acted like all the other 8th grade girls he met. Still so bugged with myself… Such a loser.

And then there are these women… Can’t get any better than this!

Tarrie tagged me yesterday for another meme. So, without further adieu, I present you with a meme about… well, ME!

8 random things about me. The Rules: Players start with 8 random facts about themselves. Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts. Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged.
**This one is hard for me because all I do is blog about random things about myself, but I’ll see what I can come up with!

1. I met Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB on Jan. 20, 1990. It was after seeing them in concert. My friend’s mom had a nephew working security at the concert and he told us that contrary to the rumor going around, the band was not going straight to the airport. They were actually staying at The Waterford Inn in Oklahoma City. We went there and waited outside in our car and up pulled 3 limos. By the time I ran up there I saw the elevator close with Danny Wood inside. Then Donnie got out of a limo and came over to me, my sister, my friend and her little sister. I had envisioned this happening to me and had it all planned out how cool I would be. I so WAS NOT cool. I cried and cried and said, “I LOVE YOU!!” all retarded. Donnie hugged me and whispered “It’s ok. Come up to my room…” Just kidding. Just checking to see if you’re paying attention!! He actually said, “It’s ok. It’s ok…” as he rubbed my back. I kissed him about an inch from his lips. You have to admit: He is so cute.

2. I was the leading scorer on our Relief Society (women’s church group) basketball team. That doesn’t say a whole lot, but I was proud of myself. One game we were playing a spanish-speaking team and they kept yelling “Catorce!” at each other. That means “14″ which was the number I was wearing. Eventually they put one woman on me to follow me anywhere I went while the rest of the team played zone. She wore me out, but it made me feel good that they felt they needed someone to follow me around. :)

3. I had never been to California until after I married Sei. I had been to Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona… just never over to Cali.

4. I don’t like crickets. They jump. But I do remember once my sister killed one in our bathroom sink with rubbing alcohol. (I don’t know why that was the choice of murder weapon…) I felt that was a really slow, mean way to kill it, so I felt bad!! I ended up burying it in a card box in the backyard.

5. I refuse to pee in the bathroom while Sei is in the shower or whatever. I won’t do it. I used to turn on the faucet while I peed because I didn’t want anyone to hear me.

6. When Sei wants to piss me off he reminds me that my parent’s screwed me out of a “Native Texan” birthrite by having me in Denver, Colorado. I was conceived in Galveston though… and lived in Texas for.ever.

7. I’ve seen Clear and Present Danger probably 200 times. When Tristan was a baby I moved to Tyler, Texas to go to school and C & P D came on HBO, or whatever channel, over and over again. I was bored and lonely, so I watched it… over and over again. Funny thing is, the channel didn’t come in clear. I watched it on a fuzzy channel! Can you say LOSER!?!? Now Sei says he can’t watch it with me because I can quote it almost word for word.

8. The 1st time someone gave me “The bird”, “You know, the finger” (Top Gun) I was at the skating rink in the 2nd grade. A boy did it because I fell down in front of him. The next morning I woke up my mom to ask her what it meant. I’m sure she was surprised to wake up being flipped off by her 7 year old….

And there you have it. A wonderful Meme about your’s truly. I’m suppose to tag 8 people, but I’m being lazy. So, if you’d like to participate- consider yourself tagged. Let me know when you have your’s posted.

It is my 100th post today- which I forgot about until I read Robin’s post today. I think I will copy her and split it into 50s because I’m running short on time and things about me. Robin also kinda went in order of her life. Good idea Robin. Thanx!!

Here goes:
1. I was born in Denver, Colorado but got to Texas as fast as I could. I don’t know why my parents screwed me out of that Native born Texan birthrite. All my other siblings got it. A little bitter… I was conceived in Galveston, Texas though. Ewww… my parents conceived me.
2. I was born May 11.
3. I am 30.
4. I was born at 11:33pm.
5. I wasn’t getting oxygen during the delivery, so that could explain some of my brain damage today.
6. My earliest memory is crawling out of my parent’s bed to get ready to go to the hospital to meet my new sister, Nicole. I had on a white t-shirt with vegetables on it.
7. I’m the 2nd of 5 children. It goes Tara (32), me, Nicole(’79-’97), Walker(20), Ali(12).
8. I wrote on my Aunt Fran’s wall when I was like in 2nd grade. My dad asked me if I did it and I said, “No.” He said, “If you did would you tell me?” I again said, “No.” Duh. Years later- like when I was 20- I admitted to it. My parents were so surprised! They thought it had been Tara. :)
9. I saw a scorpian for the 1st time when I was peeing on the toilet. I was 5. My dad put a Snoopy glass over it so he could show it to all of us.
10. Once I was scared, but too old to admit it so I poured water on my bed and acted like I didn’t know what the heck happened.
11. I’ve been all over the USA on family vacations. My fave = Las Vegas.
12. I met a guy named M.J. Nodilo in Vegas. He was the first LDS guy I ever liked, so I was convinced I would marry him.

14. I have no musical talents, although in the 4th grade I sang a solo.

19. I’ve only been to 4 concerts: New Kids on the Block, Miami Sound Machine, No Doubt and Def Leppard/Journey.
20. There are a ton of concerts I would have loved to have gone to.
21. I watched Friday the 13th at my great aunt’s house when I was probably 10.
22. The Shining freaks me out. “Redrum. Redrum.”
23. Candyman freaked me out more. I’m not sure why. “Helen…. Helen….”
24. I saw Wilford Brimley at a gas station in Idaho. (Yes- the grumpy diabetes guy from Cocoon.)
25. I saw Wee-man from Jacka$$ in California.
26. Seeing Wilford Brimley was more exciting.
27. I kissed Donnie Wahlberg from NKOTB (and now in the CW show “Runaway”) and I will brag about it until I’m dead.
28. In the 7th grade, 2 girls and I were trying to be mean and order a pizza to this other girl’s house. But we felt bad, so we called back and gave the address we were at instead. Then we had to scrounge around for money and used pennies to pay for a lot of it.
29. Growing up there were 4 LDS girls that were always my age in my ward. 2 of us got in a lot of trouble. The other 2 were angels. Well, now the 2 troublemakers are very active LDS women. The other 2 are not. At all.
30. I think saying the name “Humberto” is funny.
31. If I met Harrison Ford I would say, “I loved you in Dead Heat on a Merry-go-Round.” That was his 1st movie- he played a bellboy.
32. Harrison Ford has flown rescue helicopters to help people stuck in the mountains. If he saved me I would say, “Do you have any time in this type? 9 o’clock.” That’s from Clear and Present Danger. I’m sure he would be impressed…
33. Yes- I’ve thought of what I would say if I met Harrison Ford.
34. I’ve been to a lot of funerals for people I knew. A lot of them were while in high school. 3 were murdered. 2 in motorcycle accidents. 1 from a head injury after jumping off the back of a car. 1 from suicide.

36. I don’t have a gay uncle… That I know of.

49. I can longboard, though not very well.
50. I saved up 500 Kool-aid points to get a Kool-aid Blasterboard. It was a big, red skateboard.
Stay tuned…

I decided to give a few tid bits about myself. 26 to be exact- each one beginning with each letter of the alphabet. (Harder than I thought it would be.)

A - Anna is my 1st legal name.
B - Brady Bunch – I have seen and can quote every episode and tell you some stupid trivia from each one. I also beat a “Brady Bunch” whiz on the radio. I stumped him with Brady Bunch trivia. YEAH!!!
C - Canada was my 1st trip out of the country- to meet Sei’s girls and ex-wife. Cozumel was my next time out of the country. I liked it a lot better than Canada. I like to make fun of Canada, eh.
D - Denver, Co. I was born here, but got back to Texas as fast as I could (like in less than 2 years.) I was conceived in Texas, so it’s all good.
E - Eternal senior. I have over 100 hours of college credit and have for years. Eventually one day I will graduate…
F - Frogs. One summer I had 2-3 “pet” tadpoles that I grew into frogs.
G - Goldfish. I won a $10 gift certificate in a coloring contest at a pet store and bought 2 goldfish, bowl, etc… with my winnings.
H - Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. I used to be able to name every single movie he was ever in. It’s better than counting sheep. #1 – Dead Heat on a Merry-go-round…
I - Ice, Ice Baby. I can still rap this entire song word for word. If I think about it I can probably remember some of the dance moves from the video.
J - Jack in the Box is my favorite fast food place. They don’t have any up here. There’s one in Pocatello, Idaho and one in St. George. :(
K - Kissed Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block (see “N”)
L - Left feet. I have 2 of them and can not dance, but I am well-coordinated other than dancing.
M - Movie quote nerd- as I’ve made obvious in previous posts.
N - New Kids on the Block. I used to be obsessed with NKOTB and my bedroom walls were covered in pictures of them. “N” could also be for No Doubt- another group I really like.
O - Orange is my favorite color- because no one ever picks orange. Growing up when I’d play the game of Life with my sisters I always picked the orange car. It was the reject car.
P - Pizza Hut waitress was my job growing up for over 2 years.
Q - Quite shy. A lot of people think I’m really out-going, but that’s only after I am TOTALLY comfortable in a situation.
R - Random bruises. I always have brusies on me I can’t explain.
S - Sour candy is my weakness.
T - Texas. ‘Nuff said.
U - Umbilical hernia aka an “outie” belly button. I had one until I had surgery when I was 5.
V - Victoria is my middle name- hence the nickname “Tori.” Don’t call me Vicki.
W - “Walking Beauty” – my grandpa called me this when I was little.
X - Xrays you ask? Why, yes. I have had xrays taken- but I’ve never had a broken bone.
Y - Young mom. I have 5 kids that I actually gave birth too and I will be 30 next month.
Z - “Z only 1″ – I actually lived by a guy that had this for his license plate. LOSER!!
