I am not a big reader, so this is my 1st book review to do on my blog! I was a little nervous when I accepted the “challenge.” I was worried I wouldn’t ever finish the book. BUT- I did and it was worth it!

The book was A Critical Loss of Balance by Mark E. Shaver.

The subject of this book was right up my alley, so to speak. Being married to a police officer, I hear and read about crime all the time. I am in school now hoping to become a victim’s advocate as well. So this book sounded great. It started off strong, meaning it didn’t take me 50 pages to get into it. Right from the beginning I was interested in what would happen next. I read the book in 2 1/2 days flat. I needed to know how it would end and I am impatient, so I just didn’t put it down and my family and home were neglected. haha  I felt the pain of the parents and felt the adrenaline rush as the cops and Cliff moved closer to justice.

Mark Shaver did a great job writing this. I envy his creativity and the gift to express his stories. As a writer (kinda) I would love if my work was worth publishing. Mark definitely has a true gift of storytelling and the fact that he publishes his own books is inspiring.

Halloween is fast approaching. Once the school year starts time just flies by! Most year’s Halloween sneaks up on me, but this year I am better prepared. Taj, my almost 8 yr old, loves to dress up year round, so most of his costumes are pretty worn out. I started my search online for boys costumes.
