I love posting giveaways on my blog. It’s fun to me! In fact, I have about 4 more I’ll be posting this coming week… But I got into giveaways thanks to Not So Average Mama. She showed me the ropes. And she always has rad giveaways. Check out this one for a “new brain” aka Busy Body Book. This book is pretty cool- much more than just an “organizer.” And I need all the organizing help I can get. Go check it out!
Ok- I posted this post on Sunday, but I’m reposting it because Not So Average Mama is also hosting a giveaway that is local. Go check it out if you live near me and enter. Did I mention THREE winners??

My friend, Not So Average Mama, hosted a giveaway a couple of months ago for coconut oil. Honestly I didn’t know ANYTHING about coconut oil when she hosted the giveaway. Tropical Traditions was cool enough to send me a huge 32 ounce jar of Virgin Coconut Oil to try out! I was stoked when the package arrived. Sei tried it out making his famous homemade taco shells. I loved how they were so much less greasy than they are in vegetable oil.
I also received this book:
The Virgin Coconut Oil Book answered ALL my questions about coconut oil. According to this book, virgin coconut oil can do so much!!- speed up metabolism, aid in weightloss, help with dry skin and so much more. It’s the healthier choice for cooking as well, so I have been using it. It’s healthier and it adds something to the taste of the food. SUPER GOOD!!
Tropical Traditions is giving ME the opportunity to host a giveaway for a 32 oz (1 quart) jar of coconut oil.
To Enter: Visit Tropical Traditions and comment with another product they have that you’d like to try. While you’re there you can Subscribe to the Tropical Traditions Sales Newsletter.
But here’s the deal: You MUST do the main entry to enter. After that you can leave as many comments as you’d like… because COMMENT #139 wins.
MAKE SURE your 1st comment is after visiting Tropical Traditions. Any comment after that is fine. But without the 1st official comment I cannot count any others by you. And no worries- your comment will not show up right away. My comments are moderated so just keep on truckin’ and I’ll keep approving.
GOOD LUCK and remember 139 is the number you wanna be!!
I will email the winner and must hear back with 48 hours or I will need to pick another winner. Thanks!
I’m sure you noticed that I have been hosting several giveaways lately. I’m having a lot of fun reviewing these products and I think it’s a ton of fun hosting giveaways. But I don’t only HOST giveaways- I enter them as well. I enter several a week and you know what???? I’ve WON quite a few!!
So far I have won: a 16 x 20 poster made from the photo of my choice (Sei with his surfboard…), a kiddo’s book about ear infections, 2 kitchen rugs, a cute tutu for Livie and free laundry detergent. I wanna say there was one more, but I can’t remember what it was… And you know how I won them? I left a comment on the giveaway post. That’s it. ONE COMMENT. That’s not hard. I commented and then a week or so later I got an email saying I had won. 2 seconds of my time won Livie a tutu!!
So… this is for my regular readers… ENTER the giveaways! At least leave one comment because you never know- you may win… and it’s FUN!!! So… that’s all. Just thought I’d throw that out there. GOOD LUCK!

I have a house full of kids including one totally texting teenager. I have 4 tweens as well who would LOVE to be texting, but don’t have a phone. Bwahaha! I love making fun of the texting language and forever quoted from the cell phone commercial “Idk, my bff Jill?” So, could it be any more appropriate for shampoo and conditioner formulated especially for tweens and teens to be named “Totally Texty“!??!
Made specially for the scalp needs of teens and tweens, Totally Texty is Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Parabens, DEA, and TEA free. It will help the hair stay fresh longer, without adding harsh chemicals to the hair. We have achieved this by adding a new deodorizer to the formulation.
We have created two unique formulas. “We are trying to incorporate text messaging fun with the best of hair care.” Totally Texty™ products comes in a distinctively packaged bottle with a fun text message title ddg(drop dead gorgeous) and ytmn(you’re the man now). Each formulation has an age appropriate scent that appeals to teens and tweens (No bubble gum flavor here!)
Totally Texty allowed me the opportunity to try out their girls formulation shampoo and conditioner AND the boys formulation shampoo. Right from the start, Isabel told me her hair had less tangles. And this girl has a MOP of hair that always has tangles. That this was HUGE!! My boys like it too and I really like the fresh, clean smell rather than
the over-the-top-I-smell-like-I’m-a-man-who shaves-but-really-I’m-only-12 smell. They all liked having their own shampoo so they didn’t smell like watermelon or bubble gum like their 3 and 5 year old siblings.
Totally Texty is really catching on and is so cool they have been asked to host the Pre-party for the Teen Choice Awards this August. Pop Star magazine is covering the event and is featuring Totally Texty as one of their top beauty picks in their September issue. I’m so glad I got to try this new product and share it with you!

My friend, NotSoAverageMama, hosted a giveaway for Piggy Paint just recently. It made me curious, so I did a little more research on this awesome product. Piggy Paint is all natural so there are no toxic chemicals which makes it safe for EVERYONE to use- even the littlest divas! I had the opportunity to try Piggy Paint out with my daughters, Livie, Isabel, Kelsea and Karlea. Piggy Paint works great! And after watching Livie stick her fingers in her mouth less than a minute after painting her nails I will be using Piggy Paint from here on out.
Here’s the 4-1-1:
Piggy Paint is ODORLESS (yay!!), NON-TOXIC, HYPOALLERGENIC and are WATER-BASED. None of that yucky stuff like formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone! And they have super, super cute colors. I checked out the site and I think my faves are Mac & Cheese Please and Ice Cream Dreams. Love ‘em!!
Piggy Paint also offers a safe all natural nail polish remover- which I got to try out. It is also safe, odorless, all natural, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and contains no acetone. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E are added to supplement the natural oils that protect your kiddo’s nails and cuticles. Livie could even suck her thumb after using the polish remover. (Not sure it’s that’s a plus, but hey- it was safe.;)
Livie loves to do her own nails, but I never liked her to mess with my nailpolish. She’d make a mess, get it all over and I just didn’t feel it was safe. But now I’m ok with her using her Piggy Paint. By letting her paint her own nails she can gain self-confidence, work on fine motor skills, working on colors (Livie can name and SIGN her colors, but this makes it more fun!!) I am also more ok with Isabel having nail painting parties in her room… And Izzy’s a sports fan- now she can show her team spirit by painting her nails her team’s colors!
Melanie Hurley, a SAHM of 2, created Piggy Paint. This is what she had to say:
One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate….. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.
My quest was on, and Piggy Paint™ was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. We hope you enjoy this water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients. Finally, a kid-friendly polish without the accompanying drawbacks of traditional polishes. It is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone… and made in the USA!
So, there you have it. Piggy Paint rocks and is available online. I have an awesome coupon code exclusively for MY readers! It expires on August 31, 2009 & is ready for immediate use for 15% off anything on the Piggy Paint website including sale items.
The code is: BRAT15L
