I’m sure you noticed that I have been hosting several giveaways lately. I’m having a lot of fun reviewing these products and I think it’s a ton of fun hosting giveaways. But I don’t only HOST giveaways- I enter them as well. I enter several a week and you know what???? I’ve WON quite a few!!
So far I have won: a 16 x 20 poster made from the photo of my choice (Sei with his surfboard…), a kiddo’s book about ear infections, 2 kitchen rugs, a cute tutu for Livie and free laundry detergent. I wanna say there was one more, but I can’t remember what it was… And you know how I won them? I left a comment on the giveaway post. That’s it. ONE COMMENT. That’s not hard. I commented and then a week or so later I got an email saying I had won. 2 seconds of my time won Livie a tutu!!
So… this is for my regular readers… ENTER the giveaways! At least leave one comment because you never know- you may win… and it’s FUN!!! So… that’s all. Just thought I’d throw that out there. GOOD LUCK!

My friend, NotSoAverageMama, hosted a giveaway for Piggy Paint just recently. It made me curious, so I did a little more research on this awesome product. Piggy Paint is all natural so there are no toxic chemicals which makes it safe for EVERYONE to use- even the littlest divas! I had the opportunity to try Piggy Paint out with my daughters, Livie, Isabel, Kelsea and Karlea. Piggy Paint works great! And after watching Livie stick her fingers in her mouth less than a minute after painting her nails I will be using Piggy Paint from here on out.
Here’s the 4-1-1:
Piggy Paint is ODORLESS (yay!!), NON-TOXIC, HYPOALLERGENIC and are WATER-BASED. None of that yucky stuff like formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone! And they have super, super cute colors. I checked out the site and I think my faves are Mac & Cheese Please and Ice Cream Dreams. Love ‘em!!
Piggy Paint also offers a safe all natural nail polish remover- which I got to try out. It is also safe, odorless, all natural, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and contains no acetone. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E are added to supplement the natural oils that protect your kiddo’s nails and cuticles. Livie could even suck her thumb after using the polish remover. (Not sure it’s that’s a plus, but hey- it was safe.;)
Livie loves to do her own nails, but I never liked her to mess with my nailpolish. She’d make a mess, get it all over and I just didn’t feel it was safe. But now I’m ok with her using her Piggy Paint. By letting her paint her own nails she can gain self-confidence, work on fine motor skills, working on colors (Livie can name and SIGN her colors, but this makes it more fun!!) I am also more ok with Isabel having nail painting parties in her room… And Izzy’s a sports fan- now she can show her team spirit by painting her nails her team’s colors!
Melanie Hurley, a SAHM of 2, created Piggy Paint. This is what she had to say:
One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate….. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.
My quest was on, and Piggy Paint™ was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. We hope you enjoy this water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients. Finally, a kid-friendly polish without the accompanying drawbacks of traditional polishes. It is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone… and made in the USA!
So, there you have it. Piggy Paint rocks and is available online. I have an awesome coupon code exclusively for MY readers! It expires on August 31, 2009 & is ready for immediate use for 15% off anything on the Piggy Paint website including sale items.
The code is: BRAT15L
