I feel like I suck and I can’t think of anything to blog about on my own. lol After 30 days of having someone else tell me the subject, I am at a loss for what to write about…

The kids all started school last week… Even my Livie!! She is in full time kindergarten!! Liv tells me everyday that the next day she isn’t going back to school because “it’s too long.” It’s been an adjustment, but I’m sure in the next few weeks she will be fine. :) I feel bad for loving my free time…  This is from the 1st day… I had to black out her school’s name on her shirt– it’s a super cute shirt from www.trenditotsboutique.com.

My big girl!!

Taj is in 2nd grade. He missed the age cut off by 5 days when he went in to kindergarten, so he’s the “old” kid in his class. He will be 8 on Tuesday!! He loves his teacher and is enjoying school so far. He was super excited that his classroom has a pet corn snake, just like our Wormy!!! He also has his friend, Tyler, in his class again. Taj is still taking gymnastics and is starting Cub Scouts next week!

My 2nd grader

Isabel is my 7th grade middle schooler… She got her braces off 2 weeks before school started. The deal was, when they put braces on her I let her get contact lenses. You know, to balance things out. (I had braces AND glasses!! The horror!!) Well, when they yanked her braces off I told her she was too pretty and had to wear her glasses again. lol She IS beautiful!! She’s playing basketball this year and I am excited for that. :)

Isabel and her "hippie hair." We're workin' on it...

Alec is a FRESHMAN in high school!!! I can’t believe I have TWO kids in high school!! I’m old!! Freshmen actually went to school a day earlier than everyone else so they had a chance to roam the school, find their classes, etc… without the upperclassmen there. Alec is loving high school. He is taking ASL and is the teacher’s pet because he already knew some signs thanks to me. ;) He likes the law enforcement class (lucky! They didn’t have cool stuff like that back in the day…) and he can’t wait for basketball season to start!! Did I mention he’s 4 inches taller than me now??

Alec the freshman!

And last but not least, Tristan is a junior. A freakin’ JUNIOR!!!!!! I have a 16 year old!! Does that whig anyone else out besides me? Tristan is playing football again this year. He’s punter and I think Defensive End. Idk. I just know he looks cute and his cleats rock. lol He is excited to get his driver’s license soon. He still gives me hugs in public and he’s great at math. :) He’s about 6 to 7 inches taller than me. Weird.

#66 Check out his cleats!! He gets his triceps from me... not

JUNIOR!!!

I also started back school THIS week. I took 13 hours in the Spring, 3 in the Summer and now I am taking 13 hours. I was able to squeeze all my classes into Tues and Thursday, so I still have MWF to get things done. I am nervous about this semester. My school days are loooonnnngggg and my workload is heavy. I am especially stressed about my Earth Science course. Blech. Today I nearly gave myself whiplash because I dozed off. I totally thought I was awake and paying attention… Apparently not… I guess I need more than 4 1/2 hours of sleep before a long day of listening to lectures… ;) No one took a pic of me with my cute backpack. :(

It’s been kind of crazy, hectic around here. Although today I’ve just been lying in my bed, watching “I Shouldn’t Be Alive.” I’m not even wearin’ a bra. :)

I think I’m done with all the shopping. The 3 oldest are at the ex’s house but will be home on the 26th. Sei has the 25th and 26th off so I am excited for that!! I miss my kiddos… :( And Taj and Liv pretty much drive me to drinking… a lot of Diet DP. If I was a drinker I’d be a total lush after spending 24/7 with them

Taj, Liv and I have been hanging out at home, shopping and doing whatever we can to entertain ourselves. That would translate in to: A LOT of Webkinz playing. We also made Gingerbread people:

Liv said Tristan was “the fat one.” Sorry Tristan. lol

We also went to watch our high school play for state in Cowboy stadium. We lost 24-21, but it was a great, great game. Tristan is on JV, so he’s been working out with the varsity as they moved up further and further. So, I like to say that Tristan got them to state. :D

Go GHS!!

Go GHS!!

That’s about all that’s been going on around here that I can think of off the top of my head. I was thinking about my blog and how I used to love, love, love to write each day. I’d used to live my life thru “blogger eyes” meaning everything I saw was either “blog worthy” or not. I’m not like that anymore and I’m sad because I know there have been things that have happened that I didn’t blog and will forget. I am so thankful for the 2-3 years I was a strong blogger so I can look back and be reminded of awesome past events, like this one. (clickety!!) It’s rad.

We’ve been busy here with football, gymnastics, scouts,… life.

Here’s a quick update:

Tristan and Alec are both playing football. They are having equally good seasons. Tristan plays starting right guard and is the kicker/punter. Basically if a kick is needed, he’s the one doing it. He really is great at it. One game they won 32 to 6 and he scored NINE of those points. He had 2 field goals and 3 points after touchdown. One of those field goals was about 40 yards. His name was even in the paper for it. :) I was so proud. :)

Alec is on the kick-off return team and starting safety. He has grown so much in the last year. He doesn’t look so tiny in the his uniform anymore. He is playing great and I don’t find myself stressing as much when he’s hitting someone. He also has straight A’s this 6 weeks. :) His grades have actually ROCKED ever since he had mono last school year and missed 3 weeks of school. Weird…

Isabel is in gymnastics again. She isn’t competing. She’s just doing tumbling and loving it. She just goes once a week for fun. There’s no 15 hours of training, no pressure. She’s doing back tucks and lay outs. It’s a lot of fun to watch her. She says she misses gymnastics- except for vault- but isn’t ready to dedicate her life to it again. I just want her to have fun. She will be playing basketball again this winter. She is in middle school this year which is still crazy to me…

Taj is also taking gymnastics. He just moved up from the beginner class to intermediate after 4 classes. I don’t know if he’ll stay with gymnastics because he’s mentioned the desire to take karate as well. Whichever he chooses we will let him do. He needs something for him, that HE enjoys, since the rest of his life is school and being dragged from football game to football game. :) He’s loving 1st grade and is our dog’s best friend. Indy whines at the door when he leaves.

Livie is our mini-gymnast as well. She loves picking out which one of Isabel’s old leotards she wants to wear. We have about 10 of them, so she hasn’t worn the same one twice. ;) She is also in pre-k every day in the afternoon. I picked the afternoon session because there was no way I could get her to her school by 7:50 am and Taj’s to his at the same time. I am so thankful they will be in the same school next year. She LOVES pre-k and won’t even let me walk her to the pre-k door anymore. I have to watch from my car! Holy 4 going on 14!!

Seiuli is doing great. He loves his job which makes me so happy. He had the most DWI arrests last month. Have I mentioned he looks hot in his uniform? He just interviewed for a part time job during the week because he works weekends so he’s home ALL week which usually leads to him and me sitting on the couch watching HBO. Such a friggin’ waste of time!! He’s been wanting to get a PT gig, and this one kinda fell in his lap. PLEASE say a prayer that he gets the job!! We need this!! In our spare time we like to talk about our 10 year anniversary vacation we are going on next year. We are hoping for a cruise, but will probably end up in San Antonio. haha

I am doing the same ole, same ole. I play basketball a couple of times a week. I think I’m playing better than I was when I started up with these ladies. At least I HOPE I am!! I’m a little more confident. I have a hard time driving the lane because I’ve always been so short I was always an outside shot. I also always led in assists, so driving wasn’t my thing. I wish I could get over my fear of having the ball crammed down my throat. haha I am still a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. That is a lot of fun and a great way to earn extra money.  I enjoy it a lot! And it’s nice to make money even when I’m not doing anything. :) Oh- and I found out today that I have been accepted to return to Texas Women’s University in the Spring ’11. I’m not sure if I will start in Spring or wait until Livie is in kindergarten in the Fall, but either way I will be going back to school!! I am excited and nervous and… I need a new backpack. ;) I put dental hygiene and secondary education as my 2 majors of choice. I need to meet with a counselor to go over my 106 hours I’ve already earned to figure out which direction to head in. I’m thinking education…

So, that’s what we’ve been up to around here. Busy as usual, but I like it that way.

Alec told us a totally dorky joke…

A little girl asked her parents, “Why’d you name me rose?”

“Because when you were born a rose petal fell on your head!”

The sister asked her parents, “Why’d you name me daisy?”

“Because when you were born a daisy fell on your head…”

The son said, “Eeer ahhhhhhh me ooooh durrrrrrr!!”

Shut up Cinderblock!!”

Ok, for some reason this  joke was hilarious to me- and my whole family. When someone is acting not-so-smart we call them “Cinderblock.” This week we’ve  had a major cinderblock amongst us. So I don’t point fingers at which child it was, I will just says it was our ONLY TEENAGER. Ok yes, Cinderblock of the Week  is Tristan.

This kid drove me up the wall this week. And I can’t believe I just used the phrase “Drove me up the wall.” Hi Mom!! Next thing I know I’ll be saying “Tough tea bags.” I’m not sure what that even means and I’m totally off the subject… Back to Cinderblock

Let’s start with the fact that Tristan attends an early morning scripture study class M-F at 6am. Yes- he is awesome. But he also needs to get to football practice that starts at 7am. According to him he just “HAD” to be there by 6:45am because it takes him “FOREVER” to get all his pads on. So,  I told him to stick his cell phone in his pocket on vibrate and I’d text/call when I got to the church to pick him up. I told him that 4-5 times. So at 6:43am I pull into the church parking lot and text Tdog.  And wait. 1 minute later I text again… 2 min. later I call him. 1 more minute passes I text. At 6:50am I call and text. Nothing. At 6:54 am he comes strollin’ out with the rest of his class. He comes to the car and I say, “Are you kidding?”What?” I started mocking him, “I have to be there by 6:45. It takes FOREVER to get my pads on…” His reason for not coming out at 6:43?? “Well, I was in the middle of class.” No crap? CINDERBLOCK.

The next day he didn’t have early practice, but Alec did. I dropped Alec off at school at 6:45 and sped to the church. I got there at 6:52 y’all. Kids are comin’ out, gettin’  in cars… I wait. And wait. 6:57am I see the teacher leave and I’m like “WTH?” I call home and Sei says, “Tristan just walked in. Your mom gave him a ride.” Good to know. I asked T how he even ended up in my mom’s car. He said, “She was pickin’ up Ali, so I just went and got in.”  Nevermind the fact his mom was coming to pick him up. CINDERBLOCK.

And last but not least. Thursday Tristan had his 1st high school football game. I asked him if they were going to feed him before the game. He said he thought they were, but I gave him $6 just in case. At 10:20 am I get a text saying they were leaving at 4:40 so I needed to bring him food before then. Alrighty then. I text back, “Dad will bring you food at 4pm. ANSWER YOUR PHONE when he calls you.” At 3:50 Sei goes to the school with a footlong Subway sandwich. He calls T. No answer. He calls, and calls, and calls. He finally goes into the football field house and finds a coach. This is at 4:20. He asks the coach to find T and give him his sandwich.  The coach takes the sandwich and Sei leaves. When he gets back in the car his phone beeps like he has a voicemail. “Um, hi. This is Tristan. We left at 3:40, not 4:40. So don’t bring me any food. Bye.” He called and left this voicemail at 4:21 pm. Did he not realize he was getting on a bus 40 minutes before that?? Seriously? CINDERBLOCK.

So there you have it. My sweet, special CINDERBLOCK. But to balance it out- he did awesome as punter in his football game. First punt of the season:

First, let me start off by thanking Klin and Yvonne for the GREAT mail I received in the past week or 2. Nice cards, candy and Webkinz trading cards!! Thank you! It really helped pull me out of the sad and grumpies down in the dumpies.
—————————–

Last nite Tristan had a football game. They got their butts kicked, but he played well. He had 3 tackles and they announced his name over the intercom “Brought down by #1, Tristan G____.” Awww yeah! That’s my boy!!
Now, I grew up playing sports so I understand how there’s a time to be serious and if you wanna be good then you have to work hard, etc… And I’m not one of those parents that tell their kid “You were the best one out there!” if they totally sucked it up. I might tell them they were the cutest- but never the best unless it’s true. And if I see something they can improve on, I tell them that too. Like Tristan’s last game I said, “You were sooooo close to gettin’ that guy. If you dove you probably would have had him.” So, this game he dove!! Then he looked up at me and pointed to me like “That one was for you Mom.” Ok- not. He did dive, but he didn’t point to me- his rad coach. :P Anyway… I also think kids should get out when they play t-ball and I think kids should get cut from teams and I don’t think every chick that wants to be a cheerleader should automatically be one. (Please do not get me started on the crap cheerleaders at Tristan’s school. Soooooo bad. I’m thinking I could make the squad, right now, at my age with my legs and my no air. But whatev.) I do have a point and I’m getting to it…
Last nite we sat by *the* most obnoxious parents. Maybe not *the* most, but pretty darn close. “Go Skyler!!” “Come on Skyler!” “Hit someone Skyler!!” “Nice one Skyler!” “Do something Skyler! I’m paying for this!!” Yes- the dad seriously yelled “I’m paying for this.” And they weren’t saying it like they were encouraging him. They sounded more annoyed and threatening. & they weren’t even sitting in the right section. They were for the other team. I was soooooo annoyed because 1) Skyler wasn’t the only one on the team but they acted like he was the only one who could do anything. 2) All I could think was “Poor Skyler.” The kid obviously has a ton of pressure put on him to be the big football star. He got hit and was hurt- all the coaches and players are taking a knee and waiting to see if he’s ok and all his dad could think to yell was, “GET UP SKYLER!!” So I yelled, “Yeah- because your dad is paying for this!” I don’t think Sei will sit by me the next game…
Don’t get me wrong- I get the whole cheering for your kids thing. I cheer for Tristan all the time, but more like when he does something good or when he’s running on or off the field. “Way to go T!!” “Good job Tristan!” “Get Skyler Tdog!” Kidding… I just thought it was really sad. And what’s even sadder, I think I only heard Skyler’s name on the loud speaker once. Take that obnoxious dad- my son had more take downs than your son. Boo-ya.
