So… the other nite I was feeling kind of bummed. You know, sometimes life is just… well, LAME. So anyway, when I’m bummed it helps me to refocus on what’s important.  I will regularly pull out my huge binder of emails and cards from Sei to me, or vice versa. I wrote about it in this post. I got the binder out and told Sei, “Hey, let’s read our emails…” I read a couple of cards out loud and Sei kinda laughed. I could tell he wasn’t all that in to listening or reading. Why, you ask? The Lakers were playing. He didn’t even TURN OFF THE TV!! He muted it. That’s all I got- a muted Lakers game. So lame.

I’ve been slowly trying to learn the art of couponing. I’m not super awesome like my friend, Brit. She has been patiently showing me the ropes. She can go in the grocery store with her binder of coupons and walk out with $200 in food for under $20. I’m not that good. I have retrained myself in how I think. Before I would look at coupons and say, “I can get the generic waaaay cheaper than that  product…” But I’ve since learned to wait for sales then use the coupon or coupons and WOW, the amount I have been saving is crazy to me!! Today I got all this for $36 including tax. If you look closely there’s 6 boxes of cereal and a $9 men’s razor, it’s not cheap stuff. It was $102 worth off stuff for $36- less than a dollar a product. I was feeling pretty cool. Last Saturday I got 8 boxes of cereal for $8. Not bad YO!

Last nite was my big date with Sei to the Lakers/Mavs game. 1st off we scored our dinner at a Mexican restaurant for free. The waitress never explained why it took so long, but I don’t think she ever put the order in the computer. Anyway… we got it for free. Then we scored free parking right on the roadside by a $15 parking lot. It was funny because people would pass it up because there was a NO Parking sign. But if you looked at it, it said “No Parking from 4 to 6pm.” Yes!! But right around the 3rd quarter my dad called to let us know that Alec was burning up and couldn’t swallow or breathe very well. So, we rushed home and met my brother (who was babysitting) and Alec at the instacare place. It was 9:45pm. After blood work, chest xrays and a nebulizer treatment, we left a little after 11pm. His mono is back and in full swing, and he has bronchitis and pharyngitis. I mean, yes, he will continue to have flare ups of his mono, but he was only diagnosed a month ago and my ex decided to take the kids to Great Wolf Lodge to swim for 2 days this past weekend. Um, DUH. I can’t help but think this episode had something to do with that since Alec has been sick since early Monday morning… So anyway… we left early but the Mavs won 101-96.

Can I get a HELL YEAH!!??

So, now that all the court stuff is over for the most part, Sei and I really felt our family needed some recuperation time. But we have no money to go somewhere. So, I asked for suggestions of a cheap getaway on Facebook. I was thinking San Antonio or something. What we ended up with is 3 nites at a lake house away from reality for $75 in Mary Kay products. You can’t beat that!! Thanks again P!! You’re awesome!!! I’ll post pics and more about the lake house after our trip. I don’t want stalkers finding us. haha

This is my 8th Valentines Day with Sei and I love him more today than I did 8 years ago. I love him more today than yesterday. And I love Valentines day. I don’t know why- because honestly Sei spoils me about 95% of the year. Hence the name “Brat.” Anyway… this year I made my annual V-day shirt. Every year I design a shirt that says something about Sei. The 1st year it said, “I Heart Seiuli,”  then “Sei’s Angel” complete with wings, last year was “Got Sei?” etc… I love personalized shirts. Anyway… without furthere adieu I present this year’s shirt:

What was funny about this year is Sei and I both gave each other gifts that could potentially lead to divorce. Ok, not really, I’m exaggerating, but still… I bought him a massage. And if you know me AT ALL you know this is HUGE. I don’t like other people- especially women- touching my husband. But I thought I’d be ok since I picked the massage therapist and she was coming to our home. Ok, I took my mom to the airport and got back when Sei had about 10 minutes left in his massage. Walking into my house and seeing my man shirtless lying on a table while some chick rubbed on him… AWKWARD.  I couldn’t make eye contact with her or him until they were done. I wasn’t diggin’ it at all, but thankfully Sei’s back felt a lot better after getting all the knots out.

Sei bought me a Mavericks shirt and Dirk jersey to wear to the game he bought tickets for. We are going to the Lakers/Mavs game on the 24th. This game could be detrimental to our marriage. Sei’s a HUGE Lakers fan and I’m a huge Mavs fan/Fakers hater. This could be bad. I’ve already begged him to not be totally obnoxious. Pray for me.

For Vday I sent chocolate covered strawberries with Sei for the other officers. He had the nerve to share them with the dispatchers (aka ultimate badge bunnies… ). They are my nemesis!! But whatever. I also went to the PD while Sei was working and tagged up his car windows with things like “MY WIFE LOVES ME!!” and “HOTTIE!” Around 3am another cop told him, “I think your wife was up to some criminal mischief earlier. She had a young male accomplice…” lol I was glad he didn’t bust me earlier. I also had our 2nd annual family Vday dinner. I made heart-shaped meatloaf and rolls shaped as “X”s and “O”s.  I forgot to take pics, but it was a lot of fun. My sis-in-law made some super yum chocolate covered strawberries. I also made asparagus for the 1st time and I guess I did it right- everyone ate it. haha

All in all it was a great weekend!!

On another note… tomorrow I go to mediation with the ex. Please pray for me to be led in my decisions and for his heart to be softened so that the best interest of the CHILDREN is what he desires rather than his own personal interests. Thanks.

* Last nite we had an activity at the church. A few of us made easy crockpot meals and shared them and the recipes. I added these yum recipes to the Eazy Mealz blog today, so go check it out!

* I started P90X on Monday. It’s suppose to kick my butt and hopefully be one of the best weight loss products out there. I hope so. I am sore from the “pulls ups” I did even though not one of them was done without the help of a chair. And my push ups… yeah. Taking my before pics was PAINFUL but when I’m a hottie I will post them. Not.

* The school district decided to have the kids come back to school tomorrow. I think that’s great except that they told us the kids would be out all week so now people left town, etc… I know 3 different families that are gone out of town now.

* My thought on “The Biggest Loser”: Tara should win. She has stayed above the yellow line the entire show. She’s gonna have a tough time beating Mike (who I am assuming will be the 3rd finalist) because he has more weight to lose. She’s getting down to where there’s not much left on her to get rid of. But I am for her. I’ve liked her the entire show although I was for Sione, then Filipe…

* My thoughts on my Mavs: GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR!!!! They are down 2-0 to the Nuggets. Stressing.me.out. I honestly don’t think they’ll win the finals, so I’m just gonna say if they don’t win then I want the Cavs or Celtics to win. Just say NO to Kobe!!

* I saw the most interesting tattoo last nite. It was on the INSIDE of the lower lip. I thought it was pretty rad. She said it hurt like they were carving it with a pocket knife. Nice.

So… today is April Fools Day. Last nite I took Sei’s LA LAKERS license plate frame off his car and replaced it with my DALLAS MAVERICKS frame. I also put my big Mavs magnet on the passenger side of the car. That’s it. I listened as Sei left for work. If it took too long for him to start his car and leave then I would know I was busted. Nope- he left quickly as usual and drove the 15 minutes to work. Yessssssss. I didn’t care if he found my trick after that because him driving to work was all I wanted. See- everytime he gets in my car he takes the Mavs magnet off the car because he’s embarrassed. Well, today he drove down the highway with the magnet on his car for all to see. He called me later to tell me I’m a dork. And yes- his car is sitting in the P.D. parking lot with my Mavs frame around his plates. I hope his co-workers see it because they give him heck all the time about his Lakers frame. Yesssssssssssss. Happy April Fools Day babe!!

Isabel and Taj have been taking karate for about a month. They’ve gone to 4 classes so far. The teacher is so impressed with Isabel. He asked Sei last nite if she could test for her yellow belt next week. He can’t believe the info she retains and how crisp she is with her moves. (Or whatever the word is…) She really enjoys it too, so watch out! Next week I’ll have a yellow belt living in my houose. “Besides, we both know I’m training to become a cage fighter.”

Tristan and Alec are excited because in a couple of weeks the “Run and Gun” 7-on-7 tag football tournaments start. Tristan played in a couple last year and Alec is stoked he can this year. The boys came to tell me about it and I said, “Awesome! I can use my cowbell!!” Their faces… AWESOME. CLASS.IC. Embarrassing them- or making them *think* I will embarrass them is so entertaining to me.

Speaking of embarrassing the kids… apparently during spring break while the older kids were at the ex’s he asked them “So does your mom ever embarrass you?” Alec and Isabel said “No.” Tristan said, “Only when she dances in the car and says to me when I go to the bus ‘Make good choices!” I told Tdog if THAT was all he had on me I am failing at my job as a mother of a teenager. Why my ex asked them that, I don’t know. But whatever… Oh, and for the record- my in-car dancing is off the hook and I only say “Make good choices!” because the mom on “Freaky Friday” does it. But I don’t do it loud– I have my “cool mom” rep to uphold.
