Picking favorites is so hard. When I was younger at church they had a “spotlight” on a kid every week. When it was my week they read my favorites. Apparently when I was 8 my fave food was fish (gag) and I loved “Price is Right.” That would be true considering I practiced the games in the living room. You should have seen me putting the golf ball with my baton practicing “Hole in One.” I ruled.
I also loved “Little House on the Prairie“, “Highway to Heaven” and “The Brady Bunch.” I am a Brady Bunch nerd. I even stumped a “Brady Expert” on the radio. Boo ya! One of my fave books? “Growing Up Brady: I was a Teenage Greg” by Barry Williams. lol
2 of my fave shows as an adult have ended: “Third Watch“– never missed an episode once I started watching and that was before dvrs!!! And “24“– love me some Jack Bauer. I heard the radio interview Kiefer Sutherland and they talked him into yelling: “GIVE ME A NAME!!!” It was amazing.

But now… hmm… I dvr quite a few shows, but wouldn’t say they are “favorites.” They are more like shows I watch because my husband works weekend nights and I’m bored. But the one show I really love and is not just a “guilty pleasure” like ‘Teen Mom’ or ‘Desperate Housewives’ would be “The Good Wife“- there hasn’t been a lame episode yet! I actually got to review the pilot episode here on my blog and that’s why I have watched it from the beginning. It’s a really great show.

What’s your favorite show??
I have a few fave shows that I dvr so I don’t miss an episode. Medium, starring Patricia Arquette, is one of them. I’ve watched Medium from the very beginning. Thankfully the wait is almost over!! Medium returns to tv this Friday- Sept. 25. But make a note of it – Medium is now on CBS. It will be at 9/8 cst. I know my dvr is already set and ready to go!! Last season left me hangin’- will she live? Will the removal of Allison’s tumor affect her psychic ability? I can’t wait!!
MEDIUM is a drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison DuBois, an extraordinary young wife and mother who, since childhood, has struggled to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette stars as DuBois, a strong-willed, devoted young wife and mother of three girls who has gradually come to grips with her extraordinary ability to talk to dead people, see current events and the future through her dreams and read people’s thoughts. DuBois works as a consultant to D.A. Manuel Devalos (Miguel Sandoval), using her psychic abilities to solve violent and horrifying crimes that baffle Phoenix police and others within the criminal justice system. Assisting her crime-solving endeavors is Detective Lee Scanlon (David Cubitt), her longtime ally in the local police department. Meanwhile, at home, DuBois’ husband Joe (Jake Weber), an aerospace engineer, is a supportive husband and father who is also busy launching his own scientific engineering company. Their daughters, Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva), Bridget (Maria Lark) and Marie (Madison and Miranda Carabello) all seem to have inherited their mother’s abilities to varying, expanding degrees. Last season, after experiencing headaches and other symptoms, Allison is diagnosed with a brain tumor, but after she postpones her surgery, she suffers a stroke and in a coma, leaving her life hanging in the balance.
I had the opportunity to review a new show that is coming to CBS this fall. It is called Accidentally on Purpose. It’s is a comedy starring Golden Globe Award winner Jenna Elfman as Billie, a single woman who finds herself “accidentally” pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy. She then decides she wants to not only keep the baby… She wants the man as well!!
A newspaper film critic, Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James (Grant Show), who’s still trying to resume their relationship. Suddenly expecting a child with her “boy toy,” Zack (Jon Foster), Billie and Zack make an arrangement: to live together platonically. Billie’s party girl best friend Olivia (Ashley Jensen), and Abby (Lennon Parham), her conventional, younger married sister, eagerly look forward to the new addition and offer their own brands of advice and encouragement. But when Zack and his freeloading friends, including Davis (Nicolas Wright), start to turn her place into a frat house, Billie isn’t sure if she’s living with a boyfriend, a roommate, or if she just has another child to raise.
I thought the 1st episode was really funny. I was pleasantly surprised because usually Jenna Elfman bugs me. You can catch the Season Premiere of Accidentally on Purpose on CBS, Monday, Sept. 21 8:30pm ET/PT.
I recently had the opportunity to view the pilot for a show coming to CBS called “The Good Wife.” It stars Juliana Margulies (from “ER”) as a as a wife and mom, Alicia, who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband’s (Chris Noth) very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. She pursues her original career as a defense attorney. Although she’s not as confident in herself as I’m sure she was years ago, she jumps in feet first!! Alicia’s main competition among the firm’s 20-something new recruits is Cary (Matt Czuchry), a recent Harvard grad who is likeable enough, but will use any means to ensure that he, not Alicia, secures the one full-time associate position that’s available. Fortunately, Alicia finds an ally in Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), the firm’s tough in-house investigator.
Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician’s scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach (Graham Phillips) and 13-year-old Grace (Makenzie Vega). For the first time in years, Alicia trades in her identity as the “good wife” and takes charge of her own destiny.
I really, really was pleasantly surprised by this show. Sei and I watched it together and when it was over we both said, “I’d watch that…” I love law shows and really enjoyed how Alicia didn’t back down even when she was specifically told to defend a case in a certain way. She did it her way! I love Alicia’s confidence, even though she really wasn’t all the confident when she started. She’s been humiliated, there’s things about her family all over Youtube, but yet she holds her head up high and makes everyone forget all that for minute. I’m excited for the premiere on CBS, Tuesday, Sept. 22. DEFINITELY check it out and let me know what you thought about it!!
